IMPORTANT : Chromebooks: Please remind your student to charge their Chromebook at home. Doing so allows them to have their computer battery last the entire day, especially during this testing period!

Spring Weather

Temperatures may begin to warm up, please remind your child that they will need a coat for recess if the temperature has not reached 60 degrees. If they are playing and get warm, they are asked to tie their coat around their waist. Shorts are allowed if the weather is 60 degrees or above.

Reading: Fact and Opinion-Book and Movie Reviews

Writing: Informational Writing Due MAY 27th

Math:  Multiplying, Dividing, Adding and Subtracting Fractions; Adding and Subtracting Mixed Numbers

Social Studies: Review of 5th Grade concepts

Science: Spaceship Earth- Phases of the Moon


Character Strength: Other People Mindset

This week our Positivity Project (P2) activities will be focused on reviewing the 5 Character Strengths of the Other People Mindset:  Identifying and appreciating the good in others, Knowing our words and actions affect others, Supporting others when they struggle, Cheering on others success, and Being present and giving others your attention.

End of Week 1!

  What an amazing first week we had! It was so nice to be able to connect with each of your kids during the past four days.   Everyone did their very best to stay focused and on task even with the excitement of a new school year. I can tell this is going to be a fantastic year! NWEA- We will begin our first NWEA testing session Tuesday morning with Math and again Thursday morning for Reading. We will reassess students in the Winter and Spring to watch their growth throughout the year. Back to School Night- Back to School Night this year will be IN PERSON!  We will meet in Room 206 at 5:00-5:45. The presentation will help to convey information about accessing our weekly blog, Google Classroom, Curriculum highlights and other important classroom expectations. Friday Folders- This year students will be bring home mail on Fridays in their Purple Friday Folder.   Monday, January 17th -Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School Tuesday, January 18th - P.E., Finish NWEA Testing and Remember the Titans Wednesday, January 19th - LATE START Thursday, January 20th - Sarett 9-2:30pm Friday, January 21st - Media Center & 4th Grade Program Important Dates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, NO SCHOOL - January 17th  Late Start - January 19th Skiing at Sarrett - January 20th ½ Days - January 27th & 28th   Skiing at Sarett We will be traveling by bus to Sarett Nature Center on Thursday Morning this week. Please make sure your child has a winter coat, snow pants, waterproof gloves, and a hat. If any parent wants to join us, you are more than welcome. Paperwork was sent home last week if you are interested. You will need to drive yourself, and meet us there at 9:30am.
