Skiing at Sarett

We will be traveling by bus to Sarett Nature Center on Thursday Morning this week. Please make sure your child has a winter coat, snow pants, waterproof gloves, and a hat. If any parent wants to join us, you are more than welcome. Paperwork was sent home last week if you are interested. You will need to drive yourself, and meet us there at 9:30am. You will need to pay for your own admission as well.

 

Wrapping up NWEA Testing

This week we will be finishing up with our NWEA testing with our reading test. Thank you for having your child here on time in the mornings during this week.

 

 

Positivity Project Character Strength : Perseverance

This week’s positivity project trait is perseverance. Perseverance means you complete what you start despite obstacles. You never give up.

Winter Parent Teacher Conferences- Winter conferences will be held the week of January 24th. I will send a conference sheet home with your child this week. Some of the sheets will say that I am requesting a conference with you, others say that things are going well and no conference is needed at this time. If a conference was requested, please either confirm the date and time, or give me your preference! Our staff is only required to meet with families that we have academic, behavioral, or social emotional concerns for the Winter conferences. However, if you would like to meet with me, I will make time for you! Our conferences will be offered as virtual or in-person as in the fall.

We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to pre-order your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch.  This helps speed up the morning lunch count process.  You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.

Michigan weather can be very unpredictable, so be prepared. NO MORE SHORTS! Coats, hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots will likely be needed in the next few weeks. May 30th - June 3rd Monday- No School - Memorial Day Tuesday - P.E. Wednesday- LATE START - Art & 5th Grade performance 3:00 & 5:30 Thursday - Music Friday - Media Center & Planetarium Visit 5th Grade Music Performance- This Wednesday students will be performing what they have learned in Music all year for the school at 3:00 and at the High School at 5:30. Students are encouraged to wear Hawaiian or "beachy" clothing. Students may arrive at the High School Auditorium as early as 5:10 pm. Library Books:  Please help your child remember to return or renew his/her library books this Friday.  The media center is asking students to return late books and monitor how many books they have checked out to ensure all books are returned by the end of the year. Please also keep an eye out for books that might be circulating from our classroom library- they should all be marked Griffith.
