Week 25
March Is Reading Month:   Hooray, it's Reading Month!  We are very excited for the activities that will be occurring at Lincoln School.  You will be able to see information about it here or in Mr. Hubble’s blog. We will be doing the activities in class so the students just need to continue their great reading at home.  It will be a fun month!

Algebra Prognosis TEST information:

The 5th-grade algebra prognosis test Upton has used for years to help determine placement at Upton for their math class will be given in the next couple of weeks to those that would like an opportunity to do so.

It is 38 minutes long.  Students are not allowed a calculator.  They may use scrap paper.

While we do not want to overwhelm any students that struggle mastering the fifth grade standards, we also want to be sure it is accessible to all students that are interested.

Please let me know if you would like your student to take this test.  I will also be generating a list of students that I feel should take a shot at it!

Trimester 2 Report Cards

Trimester two report cards go home this week. Please sign the envelope, keep the report card and send back the envelope. If your child receives a 1 or 2 in any area, practice for those goals will continue in the classroom.

We only have four weeks left until Spring Break! This time of year the beginning signs of "spring fever" start showing among the students-myself included! We can start to get lackadaisical with everyday responsibilities. I encourage you to continue to give helpful reminders to your child towards their independent goals and responsibilities. One suggestion might be to have your child pack their backpack the night before making sure the checklist of school items listed above are packed. There are only 9-10 instructional weeks left when you include "testing season",  half-days and field trips, etc. before our 5th graders are 6th graders at Upton.  Let's finish strong! Thank you for your support!

Our classroom could use some donations of snacks, tissues, and disposable cups again. These donations are used for students who forget to bring in a water bottle or snack to school. Lately, we have gone through many of each. Snacks can include individually wrapped foods like goldfish, fruit snacks, pretzels, cheez-its, crackers, or granola bars.

administrative assistants and anyone who is an important part of a student’s educational

success. Through these stories, we can show our educators that they are appreciated and

supported by our community.
