March Is Reading Month: Hooray, its Reading Month! We are very excited for the activities that will be occurring at Lincoln School. You will be able to see information about it here or in Mr. Hubble’s blog. We will be doing the activities in class so the students just need to continue their great reading at home. It will be a fun month!
We only have three weeks left until Spring Break! This time of the year the beginning signs of "spring fever" start showing! We can start to get lackadaisical with everyday responsibilities. I encourage you to continue to give helpful reminders to your child towards their independent goals and responsibilities. One suggestion might be to have your child pack their backpack the night before making sure the checklist of school items listed above are packed. There are only 9-10 instructional weeks left when you include "testing season", half-days and field trips, etc. before our 5th graders are 6th graders at Upton. Let's finish strong! Thank you for your support!
Things We’re Working on this Week:
Reading: Author's Purpose & Summaries
Writing: Commas
Math: Decimals- Place Value, Ordering, Rounding, and Comparing
Science: Chemical Magic
Social Studies: Causes of the Revolution
Our classroom could use some donations of snacks and tissues again. These donations are used for students who forget to bring in a snack to school. Lately, we have gone through many of each. Snacks can include individually wrapped foods like goldfish, fruit snacks, pretzels, cheez-its, crackers, or granola bars.
As the weather starts to warm up, please be sure students are dressed appropriately. Clothing that exposes underwear or too much skin is prohibited. This includes midriff tops.
Share your story!
We want to share your stories about how our educators have shown support and
dedication to our students! We are looking for stories about all education personnel –
teachers, bus drivers, school lunch staff, paraprofessionals, custodians, coaches, librarians,
administrative assistants and anyone who is an important part of a student’s educational
success. Through these stories, we can show our educators that they are appreciated and
supported by our community.
To submit a story about a St. Joseph educator that has made a lasting impact on a
student, please send story background, participant names, relevant pictures and any
pertinent information including quotes and specific story elements to:
Kelly Gaideski, Campaign Contact, at kgaideski@sjschools.org.
*All stories will be evaluated by the campaign team to ensure it meets campaign standards.
More information may be requested if your story is selected for publication. Photo releases
must be on file for story participants.
