 Snow Pants and Shoes

Please make sure your child has snow pants if they intend on rolling around in the snow and shoes everyday for school. We don't like to wear our wet boots into the classroom since we sit on the floor sometimes and we don't want the floor to be wet. Also, there are fun snow hills that the kids really want to play on and they can't if they don't have snow pants to keep their regular pants dry. Please let me know if your child needs some snow pants or any other winter gear. We have some extra things here at school they can use.

Upcoming Dates:
Feb. 8- High School for Band, Orchestra, and Choir concert 9:30-11

Feb. 18 - No School - Midwinter Break

Feb. 21 - No School for President's Day

February 8 the kids will go to the high school to listen to all of the instruments of band and orchestra as well as hear the choir sing.  This concert is in preparation for their potential musical path in 6th grade. Information about Middle School Music came home in Friday Folders this week.

We will load the buses at 9:30, arrive at 9:45 and depart the high school at 10:45.

Our classroom could use some donations of snacks and disposable cups again. These donations are used for students who forget to bring in a water bottle or snack to school. Lately, we have gone through many of each. Snacks can include individually wrapped nut free foods like goldfish, fruit snacks, pretzels, cheez-its, crackers, or granola bars.

Valentine's Day at Lincoln School
February 14 is quickly approaching and of course, things this year will continue to be a little different.  Our plan is to hold off on the candy and packaged Valentines, and below are details for the week.

During the week of February 14 - 17, our Positivity Project (P2) activities will be focused on "Love."  Love means that you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships.

Classes will have activities and lessons in their morning meetings that will take the place of the traditional card exchange and parties.  No need to send anything in from home, we will handle it all in-house.

If you want to look ahead at family activities and connections for that week, remember you can access the P2 for Families at https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/  The password is P2.

LUNCH
We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to pre-order your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch.  This helps speed up the morning lunch count process.  You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.

WEATHER-Please watch the weather every night to prepare for the day. Michigan weather can be very unpredictable, so be prepared. NO MORE SHORTS! Coats, hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots will likely be needed in the next few weeks. Layers underneath are suggested as well in case of weather changes. Please contact me or the front office if you are in need of assistance getting any of these items for your child. We want all kids to have an enjoyable time at recess this winter.
